Ghassan A.
Raad
Sep 14, 1957 — Sep 28, 2024
Ghassan A. Raad, 67, passed away peacefully on September 28th, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ghassan was born on September 14th, 1957 in Beirut, Lebanon where he spent 36 years before moving to the US. Once in the US, Ghassan worked hard to establish a life for himself and his wife. Ghassan then moved to Calgary, Canada, where he expanded his family. In 2003, Ghassan moved back to the US where he became an active parishioner of St. Anthony's Maronite church and a well-loved and long-time employee of Bagel Boy.
More than anything, Ghassan was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his two daughters, sharing stories, playing games, listening to music, and watching TV. He was always there for them to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
In his free time, Ghassan enjoyed working on his garden and in his yard. He also enjoyed fishing and making Lebanese style pizza Zaatar mana'eesh.
Ghassan is survived by his loving wife, Claudine, his two daughters, Jessica and Bianca, his brother Joseph and his wife Zalfa Raad, his sisters Mireille Chacra and Jacqueline Raad, his niece Grace the wife of Louis Nasr and their children, and his nephews Dany and his wife Mirna and their children, and Roy (of Lebanon). Anthony and his wife Kristyn and their children, and Mark and his wife Kassandra and their child. Ghassan is also survived by the El-Khoury family, Hanna family, Kanbour family, Rayes family, and the Serbekian family. Ghassan is predeceased by his parents Antoun and Helene Raad and his brother-in-law Raymond Chacra.
