Obituary

Gerald Joseph Gagnon, Sr, 83, of Windham, NH passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital.

Jerry was born on December 7, 1940, to Corrine (Loiselle) and Albert J. Gagnon, Sr. He was raised in Dracut, Massachusetts and attended local schools. Jerry spent his career as a builder. He began working in the family business A.J. Gagnon & Sons, He moved onto owning his own companies Winter Hill Realty, and V & G Development, in partnership with his son, Jerry Gagnon, Jr. He built numerous housing developments over years.

He spent most of life in Dracut on his farm where he raised his 2 children. The family, including grandchildren and his sisters Jean and occasionally Shirley would gather there daily and weekends in the pool house to talk about the day events. He loved spending time with his 9 grandchildren driving them around on the tractor or lawn mower and teaching them golfing. He also would have the whole family at the N. Conway house for weekends/holidays. He would spend those weekends golfing and just hanging around the kitchen table telling stories, joking and laughing. He was at his happiest when the whole family was together. In his spare time, he could be found puttering around the yard. He also enjoyed playing golf at his retirement home in North Conway.

Jerry was a generous man who took all of siblings on a cruise to Alaska. He would host cookouts with his siblings, there children and many friends would attend. He built a home Hawaii and would often host family. Jerry and his wife Lorraine would take their grandchildren to Disney world often. Jerry was known to help family and friends with whatever they needed. He touched so many lives and was the rock of the family.

Jerry spent 6 years in the Army as young man. While active in the Army he spent time in Germany and would often tell stories of his time there. He was an awarded sharpshooter but spent most of time supervising inventory coming in and out of the country. He loved to read books on history and past wars.
