George A. Snodgrass, 92, of Windham, NH, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, at his home in Searles Place at Warde Independent Living. He was born on July 11, 1932, in Washington, PA, to the late Charles and Jesse (Hoffmann) Snodgrass.

After graduating from Pontiac High School in Michigan, George proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home to Salem, NH, he then began his long and successful career in commercial tire sales and service, with retirement from Sullivan Tire in 1994.

George married the love of his life, "Peggy," on January 3, 1955, and the two raised their family in Salem, NH. George loved sports and participated in several men's leagues playing softball and basketball. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and organized neighborhood tournaments. Upon retirement, George and Peggy joined bowling leagues and became avid bowlers. George won many awards and was able to bowl into his 90's.

George and Peggy also loved to travel. They often visited the Maine coast, the White Mountains and took multiple bus trips to Washington, DC, Amish country, Rhode Island mansions and other east coast locations. For his 80th birthday, his daughters organized a road trip and reunion to visit his family in Michigan. This was the first time he had seen his entire family in several years, and it was truly a memorable experience.

Throughout their lives, family was a top priority. You would always find George and Peg attending all of the grandchildren's activities, from various sporting events, to dance recitals, to birthday celebrations. Nothing was more important to George and Peg than the precious time spent with the family.

After Peggy passed in 2019, George moved to Searles Place in Windham, where his outgoing social demeanor and kind heartedness immediately connected him with his neighbors and the facility staff.

George is survived by his adoring daughters, Donna Woodcome of Hudson, NH; Diane Gomes and her husband Thomas of Salem, NH; his sister, Sheila Mersino of Oxford, Michigan; his sister in law, Alice Rondeau of Bedford, NH and her companion, Maurice Gagnon of Manchester, NH; his five grandchildren, Matthew Woodcome and his wife, Sara of Tewksbury, MA; Lindsey Daniels and her husband, Tyler of Hampstead, NH; Tommy Gomes of Providence, RI; Logan Woodcome of Holden, MA; and Alex Gomes of Somerville Ma; his five great grandchildren, Carter Daniels, Brooklynn Daniels, Riley Woodcome, Aiden Woodcome and Tatem Daniels and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his companion Muriel Cote of Windham, NH.

George was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite "Peggy" Snodgrass; his sister, Judy Davison and her husband, Ken of Michigan; his brother, Charles of Florida and his brother-in-law, Charles Mersino of Michigan.
