Obituary

George H. King, 82, of Salem, NH passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 19, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. MA. George was born in Millinocket, ME on February 4, 1941, to the late Herbert and Catherine King.

George was a longtime resident of Salem, NH. He was a retired owner operator, long haul trucker. He was very proud of his Peterbuilt. He named it "The Last One", because when he sold it, he would retire. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, especially the trips with his wife to the motorcycle rallies in Laconia, NH, Daytona Beach, FL and Sturgis, SD. George enjoyed spending time at home, whether it be floating in the pool with a Coors Light in his hand, hosting summer cookouts, working in the yard, or playing 45's and cribbage. He liked freshwater fishing, even if he didn't catch anything!

He was a faithful member of First Church Congregational in Methuen, where he previously served as a Deacon, a Trustee, and on the Finance committee. George served in the Army in Korea. He was a member of VFW Post 8546 and the Derry-Salem Elks.

George leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia L. (Moran) King of Salem, NH. He passed away the day before their 49th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey W. King and significant other, Jacqueline Gallant of Haverhill and Jonathan G. King and wife Sarah L. King of Northfield, NH, his daughter, Laurie Farmer of Iowa and his sister, Ann and her husband, Bruce Frans of Goffstown, NH. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Madison and Hunter King and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
