George J. Ivas Jr., 76, of Windham, NH, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1946, to the late George J. Ivas Sr. and Doris B. (Brothers), in Winchester, MA. George was raised and educated in North Reading, graduating with the Class of 1965. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in accounting from New Hampshire College. Since 1985, George has been the owner and operator of Ivas & Associates, LLP, in Windham, NH.

On May 29, 1971, George married the love of his life Ruth Ivas, whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

George was a man of many talents and truly enjoyed life to its fullest. He learned to sail and was a member of the Massabesic Yacht Club, owning a sailboat named "Journey" during his time on the water. Anyone who drove by his home knew it from the beautiful lawn and gardens he enjoyed taking great care of. George loved his time in the kitchen, cooking, hosting parties and decorating cakes.

George was sure to keep active. Taking his love of Boston Sports home, George coached his kid's football teams and even helped establish Little League in Windham, as well as being named coach of the year in 2003 and a Fest-a-ball honoree in 2009. An avid skier,George took his passion to the slopes, downhill skiing with Ruth. He was also frequently seen walking the neighborhood and giving back to the community cleaning veteran's headstones in his free time. George was always known for his great service to his community. Above all, George will be remembered for his love of family and his great sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, George is survived by their children: George J. Ivas III, and his wife Sharon, of Litchfield, NH, Jeffrey M. Ivas Sr., and his wife Kim, of Danville, NH, Michael J. Ivas, and his wife Amy, of Londonderry, NH, and Andrew J. Ivas, and his wife Virginia, of Windham, NH; his sister: Sharon "Candy" Hayward, of Derry, NH; and his grandchildren: George IV, Theresa, Jeffrey Jr., Heather, Thomas, and Jackson.

Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours for George on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 4-7pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 10 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cemetery on the Plain, Windham, NH.
