George William Hale, 63, of Salem, NH, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
George was born on August 23, 1963, to the late William Charles and Ursula Marie (Purpora) Hale. Born in Lawrence, MA he was educated in the Lawrence school system. George was employed by the Lawrence Housing authority for 42 years before retiring.
George will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his sense of humor, and laugh. George was a self-proclaimed “junkyard dog,” feeling most at home around his numerous vehicles and maintenance projects. While rough and tough on the outside, he was a teddy bear at heart, with a willingness to give to others generously. He was a best friend to his beloved wife, Jean Sullivan, and welcomed her family with open arms from the moment the two met. Her family was his, and George cherished time spent with Jean’s, niece and nephew, considering them to be his own. He will be dearly missed by many friends and members of his blended family.
George is survived by his wife, Jean Sullivan- Hale , in addition to his step-son Raymond Sullivan and his wife Jodi. His brother William C Hale Jr and his wife Christine Hale. Nephews William III, Trevor, and Cameron Hale.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4-6:30pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham NH 03087. A memorial service will then immediately follow at 6:30pm at the funeral home.
