Gail Ann Whitney, 79, of Windham, NH, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, September 6th, 2025, at her home.
She was born February 15, 1946, to Genevieve (Rourke) and Guy Smith. Gail was raised in Dracut, Massachusetts and attended local schools. She went on to spend her career as a bookkeeper, retiring from Stonyfield Yogurt.
Gail adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild and loved spending time with them. She shared a passion for antique cars with her husband, Russell and the two paraded and toured the greater Northeast in their antique cars. They made annual trips to the Hershey Pennsylvania Annual Car show, where they worked together buying and selling antique car parts and making friends. She enjoyed lake life, campfires, music, and dancing with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Russell Whitney; her sons, David Whitney and his wife Liane of Goffstown, and Scott Whitney and his wife Kathy of Gilford; her grandchildren, Brandon, Justine, Zachary, Brianna, Rachel, and Shana; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Casey, Ella, Porter, and Bennett; her great-great-grandson, Kingston; her siblings, Edward Smith, Francis Zannoni, and Jeff Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, there will not be services. An announcement of a Party in remembrance of Gail is forthcoming from the family.
