Frank A.
Rydstrom
Nov 21, 1945 — Aug 20, 2025
Windham
Frank A. Rydstrom Jr., 79, of Windham, NH, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born on November 21, 1945, to the late Frank Sr. and Ruth (Johnson) Rydstrom, in Walla Walla, Washington.
After graduating from New Bedford High School, Frank served his country with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, where he received two Purple Hearts. He was a graduate of Bentley College with the Class of 1973. Frank was a North Andover resident, before moving to Windham, NH in 1987. Frank made his career and retired from the Federal Defense Audit Agency as an auditor.
In his free time, Frank was sure to keep himself busy. He enjoyed gardening at his home, fishing with his friends, and traveling. Frank's favorite places to travel were Ogunquit, Maine, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and many cruises where he made many friendships that would last a lifetime. He was often seen working in his yard or sitting on his front porch and was sure to never let the birds go hungry. He enjoyed watching the bird feeder on his front porch from the comfort of his family room.
He also co-founded the Windham Community Band. In his younger years, he was an avid tennis player. His love of sports continued beyond his years on the tennis court, as he was also a strong supporter of all Boston sports teams. In recent months spent away from home, he often asked about his two cats, who he missed dearly.
Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years: Priscilla Rydstrom, of Windham, NH; their daughter: Heather Rydstrom, of Windham, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews.
