Obituary

Francis "Mac" McNamara died at home on February 9, 2025 with his wife and daughters by his side.

Mac was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the eldest of 11 children in a large Irish Catholic family. He joined the Air Force in 1966. While stationed in Germany he met the love of his life, Donna and they married in March 1975. He left the Air Force in 1979 to pursue a career as an HVAC mechanic. In 1981 he moved his family back to Massachusetts and settled in Billerica, where he resided until moving to New Hampshire in 2004.

Mac was a true family man and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his wife, three daughters and six grandsons. He had a passion for food, cooking/grilling and going on cruises. He loved the quiet of camping in Maine and early morning fishing.

Mac is survived and missed by his loving wife Donna (Brillant) of nearly 50 years; and his three daughters and sons-in-law, AnnMarie and Jack Owens, Erin and Mike Reardon, and Colleen and Alan Anselmi. He will forever be cherished and remembered by his six grandsons; Tyler, Brendan, Michael, Brady, Jameson and Lincoln. Siblings; Jean, Richard, Joanie, Jim, Michael, Cathy, and Patrick. Also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mac was predeceased by his parents, Francis J. and Joan (Harrington) McNamara, and siblings John, Kevin and Susan.

Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 4-7 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, 1 South Road, Londonderry, NH 03053. Interment will follow at the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
