Francis P.
"Frank" Dunn
May 12, 1950 — Dec 8, 2022
Salem
Francis P. "Frank" Dunn, of Salem, NH, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH, he was 72 years old.
Frank was born in Lowell, MA to Theresa Bauer Dunn, he was active in sports and graduated from Lowell High School and attended Lowell Tech. He became a carpenter and heavy equipment operator as a young adult. In 1972, he met and fell in love with his wife, Neale Christine Beshara Dunn of Salem, NH. Frank custom-built their home in Salem, where they raised their two children and enjoyed a simple and loving life together.
Frank and his wife Neale then embarked on another adventure and opened Hilltop Food and Deli in Windham, NH. Where he was well known for his popular Cruise Nights and fund raising activities for local charities. His love of sports led to him coaching both his wife and daughters Salem Softball teams for many years. He was a top ranked Darts player in the Yankee Dart League for 25 years. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. An epic father full of endless skills and feats with a deep love of parenting, a passion passed on to his son.
As a grandparent Frank enjoyed mentoring his grandchildren and teaching them carpentry, farming, and archery. Never have there been bigger smiles than when he watched his granddaughters singing and dancing for him. And nothing brought him more joy than cheering on his grandsons at their football and baseball games. He was deservedly awarded the Loudest Grandfather Award and was even respectfully asked to leave two games.
He was passionate about antiquing, and was known for his restoration work. He was a skilled carpenter and craftsman and enjoyed trash-to-treasure projects, as well as hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening.
Frank was a keen wit known for his boisterous personality and his willingness to speak his mind. He was a funny, good time-loving and tell-it-like-it-is type of guy, and you never had to guess what was on his mind. He was also the person you could always count on to help you no matter the situation. He would spend his free time building you custom furniture or on his back installing a new kitchen sink in your house. Service was his love language and if he helped you, you knew he loved you true. He dedicated his life to his family and raised them with love and devotion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Neal (Beshara) Dunnhis best partner and friend, his children, Nahil and her husband Erik Hays of Haverhill, MA, and Gabriel Dunn and his wife Rowena Talusan-Dunn of Lake Caramel, NY. His siblings, Diane Dunn and her spouse Pat Cefaly of Derry, NH, Walter "Chip" and his wife Cheryl Dunn of Andover, MA, and Robin and her husband Mike Yabut of Pelham, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Aidan, Jacob, Layla, and Zoë, as well as nieces and nephews, Jillian Dunn, Jaden, Jordan and Devon Yabut, River, James, and Chelsea Grady, Tyler Minnon and Greyson Porter. He also leaves behind a close and dear friend Lorrie Anderson of many years and will be dearly missed by his sister-in-law Leslie Coughlin.
A Liturgy will be celebrated on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 9 AM at St. Joseph's Melkite Church, 241 Hampshire St, Lawrence, MA. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at a later date.
