Eugene L. Hurley, Jr.

Eugene L. “Gene” Hurley Jr., 80, a resident of Hampstead, NH, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, while surrounded by his beloved family.

 He was born on October 1, 1945, in Lawrence, MA, to the late Eugene Sr. and Eleanor (Quinn) Hurley. Gene was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1963, and later began his career as an electrician. He made a career for himself as a licensed electrician and proud union member of IBEW Local 103 for 56 years. 

In his free time, Gene was an avid Patriots fan. He also enjoyed playing pool, his many trips to Merrymeeting Lake, boating, and spending time with friends at the Stopyra Post and Dewey Club. Beyond this, family was Gene’s highest priority and greatest source of happiness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Garon) Hurley for 60 years. Gene was a present father and grandfather, who was sure to never miss a recital or sporting event. He was blessed beyond measure for his three children, five grandchildren, and great-grandchild. 

In addition to the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Hurley, he is survived by his children, Eugene L. Hurley III and his wife Dawn of Plaistow, NH, Todd Hurley and his wife Kristen of Hampstead, NH, and Jamie George and her husband Sean of Windham, NH; grandchildren, Jesse, Shauna, Steven, Mikayla, Madison; great-grandchild, Lincoln; siblings, James Hurley, John Hurley, Robert Hurley; beloved “grand-dogs,” Charley and Whiskey; in addition to several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 4-7pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11am, at St. Patrick's Church, 118 S Broadway, Lawrence, MA 01843. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Grace house of Windham, NH, for the care and compassion Gene received while in their care.
