Edward H. Charity, 75, of Windham, NH, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, in the comfort of his home. He was born on September 21, 1947, to the late Charles J. and Jeanette (Brunelle) Charity, in Lowell, MA. Ed was extremely proud of his Lowell heritage. He enjoyed the feeling of home when he visited or was just passing through. He grew up in Shawnessy Terrace and attended Lowell schools. Shortly after graduating from Lowell High School he was called to serve with the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer in Vietnam earning multiple commendations. Upon returning from active duty, Ed worked at Raytheon where he earned his Bachelor's degree from Fitchburg State College and worked for 44 years until his retirement.
Ed had many joys in life, spending time with his family and the outdoors. Ed was a devout Catholic and even when he couldn't attend Mass, he was sure to watch it on TV. Family was the heart of everything he lived for. The past few years, he has been a caretaker for his loving wife Jane.
Edward is survived by his wife of 31 years: Jane (Taylor) Charity; his children: Stacey O'Brien, and her husband John, of Tyngsborough, MA, Jennifer Batey, and her wife Danielle, of Amherst, NH, Edward Charity, and his wife Sadaf, of Windham, NH. His stepdaughter Jennifer Johnson, and her husband James, of Pelham, NH, and his stepson Stanley John Sawlan, and his wife Colleen, of Litchfield, NH. His 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Dolores LeHeroux, Jacqueline Gauthier, Shirley Capsalis, and Robert Charity.
In addition to his parents, Edward is predeceased by his siblings: Henry Brunelle, and Isabelle Fulton.
Relatives and friends are invited to his life celebration to be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 4-7 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cemetery on the Plain, Ministerial Road, Windham, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
