Edgar R. Thomas Jr., 82, of Methuen, MA, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Nevins Nursing & Rehab Center in Methuen. He was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1943, in Lowell, MA, to the late Edgar and Cecilia (Kulesza) Thomas.

Following his graduation from high school, Ed proudly served his country with the United States Navy. He then pursued a degree from the Andover School of Business, which he would later use to begin his long and successful career in banking.

Ed had many joys in life, from his days as a mobile disk jockey to those spent out on the golf course. He coached pop warner for well over thirty years and was a lifelong Patriots fan, having even owned season tickets in his younger years. Ed always enjoyed his trips to visit his sister, Cecilia, in Florida, and even made a great number of friends during his many months spent down south.

Family was central to Ed, who was lovingly known as "Butch" by his loved ones. Most notably, he was an outgoing people-person, with an infectious personality and the ability to become beloved by all who knew him. Ed will be remembered for his genuinely kind nature, as well as his talent at "playing the ponies."

Ed is survived by his beloved children, Troy and Colleen Thomas of Salem, NH, Traci and Bob Broccoli of Flowery Branch, GA, and Todd and his wife Kelly of Chelmsford, MA; his grandchildren, Katherine Thomas, Emma Thomas, Abbie Thomas, Darah Thomas, Brayden Broccoli, Nolan Thomas, Lily Thomas, and Bella Broccoli; siblings, Cecilia Doulames, Carol Marks, and Michael Thomas; in addition to many loving members of his extended family.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 2-5pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Service will then immediately follow at 5pm at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
