Dorothy Mae (Richardson) Johnson, 88, of Salem, NH passed away on Sunday March 23, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born on November 22, 1936, to Eleanor (Peabody) and Leo Richardson.

Dorothy retired from ITT Semiconductors, where she worked for many years until her retirement. She instilled in her children good work ethics. Dorothy met the love of her life, Thomas Johnson in 1952 and were married shortly after! They built their home in Salem, NH where they raised their 4 children. The house was filled with love and laughter. The door was always open for the neighborhood kids to come and play baseball, go skating and so much more in the backyard. St. David's Parish was a BIG part of her family's life. Dorothy and Thomas always had the kids dressed in their Sunday Best! She also volunteered at the church for many fundraising events! Dorothy always liked to bake! A Sunday never went by when the house wasn't filled with kids and their parents, and Dorothy made her famous chocolate cake with coffee icing! Always making sure they had suppers every night, Dorothy was a great cook! Dorothy was also a volunteer for many years at the Methuen Senior Activity Center!

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Linda Kelley and her husband Furman, of New Mexico, Thomas A. Johnson and his wife Corinne (LaCharite) Johnson of Salem, NH, and Susan Riccio and her husband Don, of Methuen MA. Her legacy is her children, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews!

She was predeceased by her husband Tom, son Jimmy, great grandson Ryan Johnson, brothers Robert and David Richardson, and her best friend, Joanne Slater.

The family wishes to thank Salem Haven Nursing Home for the great care and many friendships she made while residing there. As well as the Holy Family Hospital ER personal and ICU staff, who were wonderful to our mother!

Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Thursday March 27, 2025, from 4-7 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 28th, 2025, at 10 AM, at St. David's Episcopal Church, 231 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. She will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
