Dorothy
Pellegrini
Feb 26, 1937 — Jul 5, 2023
Windham
Dorothy Pellegrini, of Windham, NH sadly passed away on July 5, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.
Dottie or "Chicken", as she was affectionately known by her loving husband Nazzarene of 64 years, made the brave decision to stop dialysis after receiving a diagnosis of cancer amidst waging a courageous and difficult fight against her renal disease for the past 6 years.
Dottie grew up in Allston and Watertown, MA and raised her family in Jamaica Plain and Dedham, MA. Dottie loved her role of mother best but also excelled as a legal secretary and became a trusted employee for 3 different Boston area attorneys throughout her career.
She is predeceased by her parents Albert and Nancy Volante, brother Eddie Volante, brother-in-law Larry Lombardi and a multitude of other beloved relatives.
Dottie, the eldest, is survived by her sisters Barbara Lombardi, Joanne Previte and Jean Casale and brothers-in-law Joe Previte and John Casale.
She was an avid Red Sox fan, but could only stand to watch if they were winning. She loved to read, watch Disney movies and classic musicals, swimming in the ocean and her very well-heated pool. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. Our family has been left with a myriad of precious traditions led by her, such as sewing our holiday outfits, baking cascellune, making homemade pasta, the Feast of Seven Fishes, and making her famous Nona potato salad for summer camping trips, the beach, Tanglewood on Parade concerts and cookouts.
Wonderful Mom of Cindy Pellegrini of Nashua, NH, Judy Bucciarelli and her husband John of Salisbury, MA, David Pellegrini and his wife Maureen of Chelmsford, MA, and Danny Pellegrini of Nashua, NH and daughter in-law Amy Pellegrini of Bedford, NH.
Devoted Nona of 8 amazing grandchildren…Michael, Armando, Chris, Matt, Jack, Tess, Bella and Maxine. All of them claimed to be her favorite because she made them all feel so special.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews who enjoyed her sweet and fun-loving nature and her incredible meatballs.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to be made in her memory to DaVita Dialysis, 38 Tyler Street in Nashua, NH 03060 for the commendable care they provided to Mom. A Celebration of Life/Memorial gathering for family will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087.
