Obituary

Donna L Smith, 69, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 25, 2025, at the Holy Family Hospital, following a valiant 2.5 year battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on October 17, 1956, to Patricia (Clark) and Rodney Richardson. Donna was raised in Salem, New Hampshire, attended local schools, and went on to earn her associate's degree from New Hampshire Technical Institute. She spent most of her working years as a Telephone Technician for AT&T, which became Bell Atlantic, and eventually Verizon.

Donna loved her family dearly. She was a proud Grammy to three beloved grandchildren, and she adored spending time with them.

She was a talented seamstress. Donna also enjoyed swimming and spending time at her home in Florida.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Zaydes and her husband Gene; her son, Dave Smith and his wife Shannon; her grandchildren, Jacob Zaydes, Lincoln Smith, and Solomon Smith; her mother, Patricia Richardson; her siblings, James Richardson and his wife MaryLou, Kevin Richardson, and Terri DiPietro and her husband Steven; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Rodney Richardson.

A Period of Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28th from 8:30 to 9:30am, with the Funeral Mass beginning at 9:30am, at St. Joseph Parish, 40 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. Burial will be private for the family on Monday.
