Donna M. Hacker

Donna M. Hacker, 71, of Atkinson, NH, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Winchester Hospital in Winchester, MA. She was born on February 10, 1955, in Dorchester, MA, to the late John F. Haines and Marion B. (Brundige) Haines.

To Donna, family was everything. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her two sons, Charlie and Brian. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally, and she treasured every moment they shared together. She celebrated their accomplishments, stood beside them through life's challenges, and took immense pride in the men they became. Being their mother was not simply a role Donna cherished—it was one of the greatest blessings of her life.

Her love only grew as her family expanded. Donna's grandchildren were her whole world and then some. Each one brought a unique light, joy, and purpose to her life, and she cherished every opportunity to be part of theirs. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, celebrating milestones, or simply spending time together, Donna made each grandchild feel deeply loved and special. She took tremendous pride in their accomplishments and found endless happiness in watching them grow.

Donna shared an especially close bond with her granddaughter, Breah, whom she helped raise. She rarely missed an opportunity to attend Breah's softball games and horseback riding events, taking great pride in her accomplishments and creating countless treasured memories together.

Donna also shared an extraordinary bond with her sisters. She loved each of them deeply, and the relationships they shared were among the most meaningful of her life. Through decades of laughter, support, traditions, and unwavering love, they remained a constant source of strength and companionship to one another. She also cherished the many special relationships she had with her cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

At the center of Donna's life was her beloved husband, Dennis. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, partnership, and countless cherished memories. Whether navigating life's challenges or celebrating its joys, they were each other's steadfast source of support, comfort, and happiness. Their relationship was built on friendship, devotion, and a deep appreciation for the life they shared together.

Donna especially treasured the time she and Dennis spent traveling. From family vacations to cross-country RV adventures, they embraced every opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories together. Some of their favorite destinations included Maine, Jackson, New Hampshire, and Las Vegas, but for Donna, the destination was never as important as the company. Whether traveling near or far, her greatest joy came from sharing those experiences with Dennis.

No matter where life took her, what mattered most was being surrounded by the people she loved.

Donna was funny, patient, and one of the kindest people you could ever hope to meet. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she never hesitated to offer a listening ear, a comforting word, or a helping hand to anyone in need. Donna approached life with compassion, grace, and an unwavering devotion to those around her. She left every person she met a little better to have known her, and the love she shared will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.

Donna was a proud member of the U.S. Navy Reserves. She also dedicated many years of service to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where she worked as a computer analyst.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of many years, Dennis Hacker Jr. of Atkinson, NH; her children, Charles Campbell and his wife, Maggie, of Lynn, MA, and Brian Campbell of Dorchester, MA; her stepchildren, Amelia Preston and her husband, James, of Ramona, CA, and Dennis Hacker and his fiancée, Jamie Wrobel, of New Gloucester, ME; her siblings, John Haines and his wife, Charlotte; Cheryl Lynch and her husband, Robert; Joanne Barese and her husband, Dominic; Christine Hall and her husband, Tim; Mary Ellen Haines; and June Mathias and her husband, Harry; her grandchildren, Brianna, Camille, Shaylin, Nathan, Breah, Steven, and Michael; countless nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as her dear friends, Linda Shea and Kathy Pyne.

In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her brother, Kevin Haines.

Friends and family are invited to Calling Hours on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Brigid Church, 845 E Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
