Debra Ann Champa, 63, of Londonderry, NH, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 while surrounded by her beloved family, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA, after a courageous and hard-fought six-month long battle against the rare autoimmune disease – AL Amyloidosis. She was born on January 12, 1963, in Salem, MA, to Francis and Mary (Lima) Trelegan.

Debbie met the love of her life, William Champa, while the two were both living in Florida. A blind date turned lifelong love story, Bill and Debbie were married on April 28, 1991, and enjoyed a beautiful 35 years as husband and wife. It wasn’t long before Debbie convinced Bill to return to New England and create a home for themselves and their children in Londonderry, NH.

Debbie made a career for herself working as a physical therapist assistant, which she treated as more than just a job. A nurturer and caregiver at heart, she adored her patients and worked tirelessly to see them strive.

Debbie took her self-care seriously and enjoyed any excuse to pamper herself. From trips to the salon, to many a “me day” out shopping, it was important that Debbie looked good from head to toe. She enjoyed the days out with her mother and spoiling her grand nephews and nieces as the biggest gifts always came from “Auntie Debbie”. She was also a fan of soaking up the sunshine and relaxing by the water, be it her pool with her dogs Meeko & Koa, at the lake, the beach, or at any tropical island.

Debbie’s life truly began the day that she became a mother, and she never stopped loving her children from that moment on. Her boys were always her highest priority and her greatest achievement. She was recently overjoyed to learn that she would soon be a grandmother, and it brings her family tremendous comfort to know that Debbie will watch over her treasured “Baby Girl” through every step of her life.

In addition to her husband, Bill Champa, Debbie is survived by her sons, Zachary Champa, Alexander Champa and his wife Ashley, and Cameron Champa; her mother, Mary Trelegan; sisters, Donna Sproul and her husband Alvin, Erika Musto and her husband Steve, Diane Trelegan, and Jennifer Trelegan; soon-to-be granddaughter, Kinsley Ann Champa; as well as her nephews and niece, their spouses and children, and members of her extended family.

Debbie was predeceased by her father, Francis Trelegan, as well as her nephew, Matthew Trelegan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation, The Bianchi Lab at Dana-Farber, or to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 1:30pm – 5:30pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Celebration of Life will then follow, from 6:00pm – 10:00pm, at the Bedford Village Inn, 2 Olde Bedford Way, Bedford NH 03110.
