David A. Pepper, 81, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at All American Assisted Living in Londonderry, New Hampshire, surrounded by his loving family.

David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose warmth and gift for conversation touched everyone who knew him. He shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Storer Pepper, a partnership defined by love, loyalty, and companionship. Shortly after their wedding, they moved from Braintree, Massachusetts, to Windham, New Hampshire, in 1967, where they built their home and raised their family.

David proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserves from 1964 to 1970. Following his service, he built a distinguished 45-year career as a plumbing engineer in Boston, contributing his expertise to numerous engineering firms. His work extended beyond the United States, with projects throughout Europe and the Middle East. In addition to his engineering career, David spent many years working evenings as the Director of Security at Rockingham Park in Salem, New Hampshire, where he was able to spend time alongside his wife, until its closure in 2016.

After retiring from engineering in 2011, David embraced what he jokingly referred to as "semi-retirement," working only 40 hours a week at Rockingham Park. However, his strong work ethic and love for staying active and helping others soon led him back to work at Sanel Auto Parts in Salem, New Hampshire, as a parts driver. He remained there until 2018, when he fully retired to enjoy time with his wife.

Together, David and Storer cherished life's simple pleasures—taking scenic drives along the coast to Maine and making frequent visits to their favorite lunch spot, Mike's Clam Shack in Wells, Maine. At home, David often said his hobby was "working," but he took great pride in maintaining his yard, tending to his hydrangeas, and cultivating a vegetable garden. He found joy in sharing the fruits of his labor with others.

David found immense joy in his family. His granddaughter Jacqueline held a special place in his heart, and he took great pride in watching her grow over the years. He was equally proud of his son, Dr. Gregory Pepper, never missing an opportunity to share his accomplishments. He deeply loved his daughter-in-law, Susan, whom he often described as the daughter he never had. Holidays were especially meaningful to David, as they brought family together and provided opportunities to reminisce, laugh, and connect.

More than anything, David loved conversation. He had a natural ability to talk with anyone for hours, making people feel welcomed, valued, and at ease. His friendly nature and easygoing personality made his company truly cherished by all who knew him.

David was predeceased by his son, Keith Pepper, in 2020. He is survived by his wife, Storer Pepper, of 59 years; his son, Dr. Gregory Pepper, and his wife, Susan (Gucciardi) Pepper; his five grandchildren, Jacqueline, Ryan, Shawn, Holly, and Tiana; his five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

David will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his remarkable ability to connect with others through simple kindness
