Daniel "Dan" Stephen Riley, age 49, of Chester, NH passed away on Sunday morning, June 18th, 2023, at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill, MA.

He was born on March 25th, 1974, to Catherine (Cammett) and Paul Riley. Dan grew up in Amesbury MA before moving to Sandown, NH in the 6th grade.  After Dan and Danielle got married, they moved to Danville NH, where they started their family and lived for 20 years, before moving to Chester NH in 2021.  Dan spent 35 years working with amazing people at Market Basket, where he proudly held the title of Store Director in Epping NH.

Dan's priority was his family and he always put his family before any of his own needs. You couldn't find a better husband, father, son, brother, uncle or friend in the world.  He loved being outdoors, enjoying fishing, boating, jet skiing and his all-time favorite, hiking. He took great pride in his yard and in his free time enjoyed landscaping. He was a very big fan of country music and attended many unforgettable concerts. He was an avid New England Sports Fan and loved nothing more than going to the Celtics with Danielle, Kelsey and Kiara.  Dan loved to travel and went on countless amazing vacation with family and friends.  His favorites were Turks and Caicos and Colorado.

Dan, also lovingly known as Big Red, was the "neighborhood dad" to many,  especially his "bonus" daughter, Tatenda Chanakira.  He could often be found taking the kids on bike rides, exploring the woods looking for wildlife or giving the kids roller coaster rides through the yards on his John Deere.  His hiking buddy and man's best friend, his dog Emma, was always by his side. Dan has left such an impact on so many people's lives and will never be forgotten. He was the kindest and funniest man anyone could ever meet. He loved and cared about his family so much and his legacy will carry on through them.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Danielle (Forte) Riley and their two daughters, Kelsey and Kiara, who loved him endlessly; along with his parents, Paul and Catherine Riley of Danville, NH; his brother, Paul Riley and wife Sherry, Danville, NH, his brother, Kevin Riley, Tampa, FL; his parent-in-laws, Dan and Deborah Forte of Haverhill MA; his sister and brother-in-law, Katrina and John Kennedy; Dan also left behind his nieces and nephews: Anna, Stephen, Brianna, Giulianna, Jessica, Faith, Macie, Josh, Lily  and Grace; along with his great-nephew, Malachi; his best-friends, Nathan and Kristi Auclair, who stuck with him through the good and the bad and shared so many incredible memories together; along with his Fairy God children, Brady and Katie; and lastly his great friend Noel, who was there for every second including his last breath on earth and his first breath in Heaven.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 24th, from 2:30pm to 6:30pm at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087.
