Dana Swift
Moore
Aug 3, 1941 — Mar 7, 2026
Windham
Dana Swift Moore of Windham, NH passed peacefully on March 7, 2026, while at High Point Hospice with her husband David Moore at her side.
Dana was born on August 3, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up, she and her parents, "Ted" and "Fran" Swift and family resided in Ohio, IL MO, and KS. She graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in Kansas City KS in 1959. Upon returning to MA, Dana held a variety of positions at a variety of companies including divisions of Honeywell, Motorola and Applicon. During those times she shared spaces with new roommates. Those times, in addition to the working environment, resulted in the establishment of lifelong friendships and created a new "Circle of Friends".
During the course of her career and as a part of the job, Dana was required to travel throughout the United States and Europe. She retired from Intertec Testing Services as manager of corporate programs, and a member of the financial staff.
Dana was an active participant in High School Activities and was a member of the Glee Club in productions such as "Oklahoma". She was a passionate gardener, flower grower, photographer, artist, bird lover and cook. Being a flower enthusiast, Dana and her late aunt Dorothy attended the Chelsey Annual Flower Show in London. She was an accomplished swimmer and enjoyed Snorkeling and was a licensed Scuba Diver. She was also an advanced skier and traveled throughout New England to test the slopes in addition to trips to the West, Europe, and Canada.
Dana was also a sailor. She and David spent their honeymoon on a sailboat on Lake Winnipesauke. They then graduated to a more expansive area, "the Chesapeake Bay". She was the first mate and "chief of the boat" on many of their voyages with David (as Captain) and on occasion with family and friends as crew. Dana and David spent many hours on their own sailboat Guenever. Being a boating enthusiast, Dana was one of the early volunteers who participated in the activities to aid in bringing to life the Square Rigger merchant ship, "The Friendship of Salem".
Dana was a board member for the condominium associations at both The Town Houses of Salem and Hadleigh Woods in Windham.
Dana is survived by her husband, of 40+ years, David; stepdaughter Sharon Moore and her children Mary and Charlie, and step son Scott and wife Despina Moore and their daughter Kathleen.
She will be greatly missed.
