Obituary

Constance J. (Piquado) Pennisi, 81, of Windham, NH, passed away Wednesday, February 22 nd , 2023, at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH.

Connie was born in Washington, DC. to the late Carl and Alice (Reinhardt) Piquado. She grew up and was educated in DC and graduated from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. She was a resident of Windham for the past 11 years, formerly of Salem, NH and Methuen, MA.

Connie was a gifted cook and an avid gardener. Over the years, she and her husband Mo hosted many holiday parties, where her lavish meals and hospitality were greatly appreciated by all. The gardens she designed, especially in her Salem home, were lush and a major source of enjoyment. She was even honored with an award by the Salem Garden Club. Connie loved music, which was always playing in her home, and those who were lucky received a singing or kazoo birthday serenade.

Connie was a book lover, and was always reading, whether novels, cook books, or travelogues. She loved to travel, though definitely not on a plane. She often reminisced about travelling with long-time friends Carmen and Rita Grasso to Bermuda, Canada, and across country. She also enjoyed taking cruises and playing 45s with Charlie and Joyce D'Agata and Roe and Richard LaRochelle. She even loved shorter excursions, like weekend trips to the Maine coast.

Connie was a life-long devoted member of the Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Matthew Parish in Windham, NH.

Connie is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Maurice "Mo" Pennisi, and her children, Mark Pennisi of Windham, NH and Alice Pennisi and Johan Blok of Buffalo, NY.

She is survived by her brother John and sister-in-law Dorothy Piquado of Gilford, NH, sister Marie and brother-in-law Larry Novotney of Rockport, ME, and her sister Margaret and brother-in-law Keith Wagner of Paisley, FL, and her beloved cousin and friend, Father Tommy Piquado, S.J. She is also survived by her sister- and brother-in-law Mary and Brad Stein, of Copake, NY. She is predeceased by her brother David Piquado and her sister Donna Jeffers.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and numerous godchildren.
