Obituary

Charles L. Annan Jr., 79, of Salem, NH, passed away in his home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, while surrounded by his family. He was born on November 1, 1945, in Lawrence, MA, and was raised by his adopted parents, Chick Charles Annan and Doris Elizabeth (Marquette.)

Following his time in high school, Charlie spent his weekdays pursing his business degree from New Hampshire College and his weekends with the United States Army Reserve. He then began his long and successful career with the IRS, which is where he met his future wife, Sandra M. (Doucette.) The two were married in 1976 and enjoyed nearly 50 years with one another.

In his free time, Charlie was an outdoorsman, who always found his way back to the water. Whether he was visiting lighthouses with his children, boating out on the lake, or simply enjoying the views of Canobie from his backyard, Charlie was at peace in nature. He was an animal enthusiast and lifelong dog owner, with a particular affection for birds. Though he was quiet, Charlie was an excellent listener and was sure to provide his children with advice and guidance whenever they needed it most. Above everything, Charlie was a family man to his core and worked tirelessly to ensure that his children were loved and supported. He most cherished time spent with his two granddaughters, Mairéad and Isla, as well as his grand dog Callie "the woof."

In addition to his wife, Sandra, Charlie leaves behind his sons, Erik and his wife Deirdre, and Jameson and his husband Michael; granddaughters, Mairéad and Isla; and many other beloved members of his extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Dawn Annan, and sister, Gail Everett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Camp Allen in memory of Charles Annan.
