Carol L. (Hutchings) Lloyd of Salem, NH passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on August 7, 2024.

She was born in Lynn, MA on January 2, 1930, to the late Raymond and Florence (Davis) Hutchings. Upon her graduation from Punchard High School in Andover, MA, Carol pursued a degree from Bryant & Stratton Commercial College in Boston, MA.

Carol met and married the love of her life, Raymond H. Lloyd in 1951, and the two raised their three children for many years in Andover, MA. She later moved with her husband to Salem, NH in 1978, which she called home for the remainder of her life.

After moving to Salem, Carol became an active member at the Granite United Church in town and was proud of her 39-year commitment to the congregation there. It was during this time that she also began her long and fulfilling career working at the Yum Yum Bakery shop in Salem. She was passionate in the work that she did at the bakery and spent her career experimenting, perfecting, and creating beautiful multi-tiered wedding cakes.

Even on her days away from the bakery, Carol enjoyed spending her time cooking and baking for those she loved. She was an avid shopper, animal lover, joke teller, and was sure never to leave her house without "her bling." Above all, Carol loved God, her family and her country.

If she could say one last thing, she would tell all to read her favorite Bible verse, John 3:16.

In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Raymond H. Lloyd and their son Raymond H.
(Sandy) Lloyd Jr.

She is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Rebecca Lloyd of Salem, NH; her daughter, Deborah K. Watrous and her husband Ernest of Mystic, CT; her grandchildren, Christina M. Haibowicz and her husband Chris of Salem, NH, Christopher Lloyd and his wife Danielle of Sandown, NH, Adam Lloyd of Salem, NH,  Jennifer Trela of Salem, NH, David Watrous and his wife Tara of Mystic, CT, Debbie Johnston and her husband Michael of Canada; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob Haibowicz, Cody Lloyd, Rylie Lloyd, Nicholas Wildes, Abigail Johnston, Benjamin Johnston, Charis Johnston, Luke Noah Johnston, James Watrous, Charles Watrous, and Oliver Watrous.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Salem Animal Rescue League or to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 10am-12pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A burial will immediately follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, MA.
