Carl "Bucky"
F. Nelson Iii
Sep 26, 1945 — Oct 22, 2025
Londonderry
Carl "Bucky" F. Nelson III, 80, of Londonderry, NH, passed away after a lengthy illness.
Bucky was born on September 26, 1945, to Rita (Buckley) and Carl F. Nelson, Jr. He was raised in Beverly, Massachusetts until his family moved to Contoocook, New Hampshire. Bucky enlisted and served in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Becuna SS-319 and USS Irex SS-482 submarines. Following his service, he briefly lived in California before making the trip cross country back to New Hampshire on his motorcycle. Bucky then went on to the University of New Hampshire, earning his Bachelor of Forestry and taking graduate courses in Entomology.
He met the love of his life, Roberta "Bobbie" Land, while studying at the University of New Hampshire, and the two were married for 49 years. The couple raised their family in Londonderry and Bucky spent his career as an Entomologist with Bain Pest Control.
Bucky was truly an exceptional human - kindhearted, genuine, focused on the right things and extremely charitable - he was the type of person who would give his shirt off his back and probably did more than once.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing rugby, riding his Harley Davidson, casino trips, attending Judo classes, and golfing with coworkers.
Bucky is survived by his beloved wife, Bobbie Nelson; his son, Eric Nelson; his daughter, Jessica Donahue and her husband Kevin; his grandchildren, Liev Nelson, Callie Donahue, and Keira Donahue; his sisters, Sharon Regal, Jeanne Kruse, and Christine Nelson; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom he loved as if they were his own children; as well as many friends that were like family.
He was predeceased by his mother, Rita Nelson; and his father and step-mother, Carl and Claire Nelson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 7th, from 3 to 5pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Service will begin at 5pm, at the funeral home.
Continuing Bucky's legacy, memorial donations may be made to a Charity of One's Choice.
