Betty J. (Benner) Shawcross, 89 of Salem, NH, died peacefully on Thursday at the High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, MA.

Betty was born in Lawrence, MA, one of 11 children born to the late Clayton and Frieda (Uhl) Benner. She grew up and was educated in Lawrence, MA and was a resident of Salem, NH for over 60 years.

Betty was a retired wire specialist for Henry Hanger in Nashua, NH, where she worked for 44 years. Betty enjoyed crossword puzzles and the lottery. Most of all Betty loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved to go out with her sisters.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband James Shawcross.

She is survived by her sons Bill and his wife Geneva Shawcross, and Gary Shawcross both of Salem, NH

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, Dec. 28 ^th from 4-7 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29 ^th at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
