Betty Jean
Mahan
Mar 1, 1931 — Apr 12, 2025
Windham
Betty Jean Mahan, 94, of Windham, NH, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 1, 1931, to the late Allen Wimer and Ann (Alexander) Franklin, in Salinas, CA.
Betty's family was one of her greatest accomplishments. She met her husband Delbert Keck and relocated her young family to a farm in Enid, OK. It was here Betty, and her first husband raised their kids, until their move to California when the children were in high school. She was a graduate of Enid Beauty College and became a passionate beautician working out of her home. She was quite creative, knitting baby blankets and attended craft fairs to sell her handcrafted apple dolls. She retired as a grocery clerk at Safeway Supermarket in California.
Later in life, Betty met her true love, Donald Mahan. Together, they enjoyed traveling across the country in their motorhome. After Don's passing, Betty made the move to live with her daughter in Boston, and then eventually New Hampshire.
Betty loved to travel the US, taking full advantage of planning trips around visiting family and friends. She will always be remembered for her love of cooking, knitting, wine, watching sports and her Havanese-Poodle Daisy. Her optimism and resilience guided the life of herself and family. Betty deeply treasured the joy she found in being a mother and grandmother.
Betty's faith and love for Jesus was always kept close to her heart. Her Catholic faith, trust in God truly guided her throughout her entire life.
Betty is survived by her children: David Keck, and his wife Madelyn, of Enid, OK, Russell Keck, and his wife Stephanie, of Harper, TX, Deborah Keck, of Elk Grove, CA, and Judy Nolan, and her husband Timothy, of Windham, NH; her grandchildren: Kristie, Chad, Connor, Caitlin, Jack, and Katie; her great-grandson: Ethan; as well as her close friends: Anita and Jane.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is predeceased by her sister: Shirley Mack.
