Bernadette Ann (Peters) Kerins, 79, of Bradford, MA, passed away on January 27th, 2025, at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. She had battled heart disease throughout her life and is now at peace with Jesus.
Berna was born on September 22, 1945, to Irma (Greene) and John F. Peters, Sr. She was raised in Methuen, attended local schools, and went on to attend secretarial school. Throughout her career, Berna worked as a secretary for various companies. She also took part in helping to raise many of her nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart.
In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles, reading, and bowling. In her twenties, Berna became a member with the First Baptist Church in Salem, now the Centerpoint Community Church. Throughout the years, she remained active in the church and often volunteered in many roles, from working in the library to traveling to nursing homes and hospitals as a clown.
She married the love of her life, John Kerins and the couple shared 53 wonderful years together until his passing.
Berna was so loved and will be incredibly missed by her family.
Berna is survived by her siblings, Mary Malone, Gloria Alaimo, Frances Mailhiot, Donna Gioia, and John Peters, Jr; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Joan Coppola, Barbara Blackburn, and Julie DiGloria.
A Graveside service will be held on Monday, February 3rd, at 11am, at Elmwood Cemetery, 96 Salem Street, Haverhill, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Centerpoint Community Church, 101 School Street, Salem, NH 03079.
