Beatrice A.
Maw
Feb 14, 1927 — May 15, 2025
Windham
Beatrice A. Maw, 98, of Windham, NH, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, at the Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester, NH. Born in East Boston on February 14, 1927, to Lawrence and Angela (Ciampa) Cataldo, Beatrice was raised in Winthrop, where she attended local schools and later met her future husband, John Maw.
After marrying on July 15, 1950, the couple moved to Saugus to raise their family. During this time, Beatrice worked as a switchboard operator for New England Telephone before beginning her long and successful career as a Real Estate Broker with Coldwell Banker. She was proudly included on the "Who's Who Among American Real Estate Brokers" list.
In her youth, Beatrice taught ballroom dance at the Stephen Elia School of Dance. Both she and her husband, John, were a stunning couple on the dance floor at many events. Throughout her adult life, Beatrice was known for her outgoing personality and distinctive fashion choices, and truly was the life of the party. She enjoyed hosting summer gatherings, where the entire family loved spending time together. Bea and John volunteered at many events at the Knights of Columbus and thoroughly enjoyed their friends and family. Additionally, Beatrice had a true passion for sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, never missing a game, whether on her portable TV or listening on the radio.
Her faith was extremely important to her, and she was an active member and supporter of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Lynnfield, where she and John volunteered at many events to support their parish. She belonged to both the Catholic Women's League and the Lynnfield Women's Club.
Beatrice is survived by her children, John Maw and his wife Barbara, Cheri Maw Norman and her husband Rex, Angel Doyle and her husband Michael; her grandchildren, Sheila Vallois, John Maw, Kristina Norman, Alexei Norman, Daria Norman, Shannon Doyle, Michael Doyle, and Julianne Doyle; her sister, Loretta Abramo; her great-grandchildren, Lucas Vallois and Clara Maw; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her siblings, Helen Vitagliano, Louis Cataldo, and Celia Napoli.
