Barbara Ethel Leonhart, 88, of Methuen, MA passed away on Sunday, September 4 ^th , 2022, at the D'Youville Center in Lowell, MA.

She was born on February 16, 1934, to Dorothy (Maynard) and Wray Atkinson. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Methuen.  She was a graduate of Searles High School.

Barbara was very involved with the Forest Street Union Church and the Methuen Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting and happily donated her creations to premature babies and her trauma bears to local police and fire stations.

She is survived by her sons, Steven Leonhart and his wife Suzanne and Scott Leonhart and his wife Mary Daigle, all of Methuen, MA; her grandson, Jason Leonhart and his wife Danielle; her granddaughter, Deanna Leonhart; her greatgrandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by two of her children, Eric Leonhart and Shari Leonhart and her two brothers, James W. Atkinson and John A. Atkinson.

Celebration of life will be at Forest Street Union Church, 15 Forest Street, Methuen, MA 01844 on September 10 at 10:00 AM.
