Obituary

Arthur William Eldredge, 68, of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2026, in his sleep and while in the comfort of his home. He was born on February 3, 1958, in East Derry, NH, and was predeceased by his parents, William and Hazel (Chase) Eldredge.

Arthur was a reserved man who was perhaps happiest when out driving back roads on his motorcycle. He had a quiet kindness to him; however, his actions spoke volumes. Arthur was always willing to lend a helping hand to others, especially when it came to fixing things, which was among his many talents. His career as a heavy equipment operator reflected his hard-working nature, and his sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to those around him.

Arthur was blessed to have loved not only his family by blood, but also his family by choice. From the first day forward, he welcomed his partner's family, including her children, with open arms. Arthur and Rosie (LaValley) Owen shared 15 years together, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they shared a blended family, and Arthur became a bonus grandparent, affectionately known as "Arty" to Rosie's granddaughters, Rose Owen and Makayla Knoepfler.

Arthur also enjoyed spending time on the waters of Big Island Pond, especially jet skiing. He often took Rosie and their friends out on the boat, happy to share in something Rosie loved. His time spent at Chase's Grove with close friends and family was also filled with good company and laughter. He also cherished spending time with family who lived nearby, including his brother Allen and his wife Frankie, his niece Amy and her family.

In addition to his partner and best friend of 15 years, Rosie (LaValley) Owen, Arthur is survived by Rosie's children, Stephen Owen and Amanda Knoepfler; his chosen grandchildren, Rose Owen and Makayla Knoepfler; his brother, Allen Eldredge and his wife Frankie, and their children, Thomas LaBerge and Amy Meilleur and her husband Jon; his sister, Wanda Steffen and her husband Leo, and her children, Shane McCusker and Corey McCusker; Nine Great Nieces and Nephews; Rosie's cat (and Arthur's begrudging four-legged housemate), Tinker; as well as many beloved friends and members of his extended family.

Arthur will be remembered for his quiet kindness, willingness to help others, sense of humor, and the love he shared with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date, with details to be announced.
