Ann Ross
Leclair
May 12, 1939 — Nov 11, 2022
Salem
On Friday, November 11th, Ann R. LeClair, loving mother of two, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 83. She was born on May 12th, 1939 to Alice and Gilbert Marshall. She married Richard Holmstrom and they raised two loving children, Steve and Cindy. She was a beloved Special Education teacher for many years, and she always said that she had many, many children. Earning her Master's degree, she eventually served as a High School Special Education teacher, where she retired. Later in life she remarried to Alfred LeClair who was a widowed relative of her daughter-in-law and moved to Salem New Hampshire.
Always devoted to family, she traveled extensively, being invited to family gatherings across the US, and warmed up any room she was in. She had many passions, including sewing creations for family and friends, traveling to far off lands, reading Agatha Christi, singing Beatles songs out loud, nurturing plants, and walking and talking with neighbors. Though a teacher, she was first and foremost an avid student; always eager to learn a new skill. She took classes on cooking, soap making, advanced sewing/quilting, and making wonderful kaleidoscopes the 'old fashioned way'. She made new friends in minutes and cared deeply about every one she met. Her passions were many, indeed, but her deepest was continuing to learn about our God.
Ann was preceded to heaven by her infant brother Albert, Mother Alice, Father Gilbert, brother Don, and loving husband Alfred. She is survived by her sister Joan, sister-in-law Joan, son Steve, daughter Cindy, daughter-in-law Elaine, son-in-law Leroy, grandchildren Ryan, Patrick, Katie, and Christopher, and great-grandson Alexander, along with cousins and a nephew.
We will hold a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am Thursday, November 17th at Granite United Church, in Salem, NH, which she cherished, and considered her family-away-from-family. She will be interred with her beloved Father, Mother, and Brother at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ann's name may be made to Granite Unites Church, 1 Sand Hill Road, Salem, NH 03087. Arrangements are under the care of Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087.
