Obituary

André Paul Vignos, 59, of Nashua, NH, and previously of Windham, NH, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at his home.

He was born on October 16, 1963, to James and Ingrid (Fritzsche) Vignos, in Munich, Germany. André earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from UMass Amherst and went on to work on a ground-breaking supercomputer at Thinking Machines Corporation.

André loved spending time in the outdoors. He was most passionate about skiing and hiking. He said the mountains were where he felt closest to God. He set up countless family skiing, hiking, and camping trips so that his children could learn to appreciate and experience the wonders of nature. He also loved golfing, biking, spending time at the ocean, and listening to the sounds of thunderstorms and the waves crashing on the shore. Andre loved traveling the world, most recently taking his daughters on a safari in Africa.  He adored his dog, Riley. They shared a special bond, and she brought him enormous joy. He enjoyed playing competitive card games with family and friends, like cribbage and Oh Hell. He also spent time volunteering at the Lazarus House Soup Kitchen and being a member of the Men's Group at Windham Presbyterian Church.

André was quite a talented chef. It gave him great joy to cook for his family and friends. He grew his own vegetables, including a variety of hot peppers. He made his own hot sauce which was not for the faint hearted. He was a massive Patriot's fan, rooting for all New England teams, and even played hockey and volleyball in his free time. Most of all, André enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, André is survived by Joanne Vignos, his daughters: Rachel Vignos and Sarah Vignos, both of Windham, NH; his brother: René Vignos, and his wife Kathleen, of San Francisco, CA; his niece Josette Vignos; and his nephew, Thomas Vignos.

Calling hours for André will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 4-7 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10 AM, at Windham Presbyterian Church, 1 Church Road, Windham, NH 03087.
